Sunny and Funny - Ramblie's Inside-and-Out Weather Forecast for Wish It Be True
Hello, I'm Ramblie. You may have seen me giving tours of Redwood Creek to rabbits last week, because I'm the Official Head of Animal Welcome and, on important days, I also give weather reports.
I've got good news today - it's sunny! And I'm feeling funny - good funny, not 'funny in my tummy' funny.
But I kind of felt that 'funny in my tummy' way after my last weather report where I gave my best tip for where to find abandoned ice cream cones before they melt.
Oh gosh, now you're wondering why. Erika, the lady who helps me write this, told her little boy about my weather report as they were driving to school the other day.
Her son said, "Oh yuck! That's disgusting!" And he laughed.
Hearing that, I felt bad in my belly. What if my weather report wasn't good? Here's what I said: Waking up today in Redwood Creek will be like getting the first lick of an abandoned ice cream cone before all the ice cream melts: Delicious but a little cold.
But melting ice cream tastes good, right? And, if it's freely available on the sidewalk, then isn't that even delicious-er?
You don't need to answer. Because I thought about it and I realized my weather reports need to sound like ME. My friend Rose always talks about that - just being yourself. I thought about all the times my friends laugh with me. And how I like to laugh. And the funny feeling in my tummy went away.
Then the boy in the car asked to hear more about what I'd said, because he thought I was funny.
Then my friend Lion came up and asked me for help finding ice cream. Yes, of course, I said. Seven times out of ten, little kids drop their ice cream cones. Yes, it's true. The child licks the ice cream cone and it starts to tip, the mom or dad lunges for the cone, the child pulls back and licks the drop that is on their hand while their nose bumps the ice cream and - voila! - ice cream on the ground. Everyone seems happy to share after that. Amazing!).
At the end, it was a good week. I made someone laugh, I helped someone get ice cream and I gave a tour to a family of rabbits who picked a nice house in the woods.
And back to the weather report - it's sunny today!
The best thing to do on a sunny day is to find a little patch of sunlight, sit in it with a friend and tell jokes. Here's my joke for you today:
Knock knock.
Who's there?
Anita.
Anita who?
Anita ice cream cone.
HA!
Big hugs,
Ramblie
